Protecting childrenโs rights requires more than policies; it requires public awareness, collective action and a shared commitment to ending child labour.
With this understanding, Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF), in collaboration with SHAPLA NEER, organised a โ๐๐๐บ๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐น๐น๐ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ต๐ถ๐น๐ฑ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ปโ๐ ๐ฅ๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐๐โ as part of World Childrenโs Week 2026. The initiative aimed to raise public awareness of childrenโs rights and strengthen the collective call for an end to child labour and exploitation.
The event brought together trade union leaders, workers, representatives of the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE), and development partners. Their participation reflected the importance of collaboration among workersโ organisations, government institutions and other stakeholders in protecting childrenโs rights.
A key focus of the human chain and rally was the need to protect children from exploitation and ensure that every child has access to education, safety, dignity and opportunities to develop their full potential. The initiative also highlighted the harmful consequences of child labour and the shared responsibility of all stakeholders to create a safe and secure environment for children.
Through this collective mobilisation, BLF and its partners reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening efforts to prevent and eliminate child labour, promoting childrenโs rights, and building a society where every child can learn, grow and thrive free from exploitation.
Protecting children is a shared responsibility. By working together, we can build a future where every child is protected, empowered and given the opportunity to reach their full potential.
